Boy Scouts Troop 1 East Greenwich is a scout-led troop is sponsored by the East Greenwich First Baptist Church with a focus on having fun while instilling leadership and outdoor skills!
We try to camp out once or twice a month in addition to our annual week at Yawgoog Scout Reservation. We also go rock climbing, bowling, and march in East Greenwich’s Memorial Day and Veterans Day parades. We support our community through planning and participating in service projects such as cleaning up public spaces and assisting local non-profits.
Our troop’s relatively small size means each scout has a voice in our decisions, and feels included in the decisions. We have excellent scout retention, with all of our scouts are progressing well through the scout ranks. The troop has graduated a steady stream of Eagle Scouts in throughout the years. Of course, you are welcome to join us even if you only want to go camping! A number of our scouts also have other serious sporting or academic commitments, our model allows for all to enjoy the scouting experience while still participating in other activities.
