Scouting America Troop 1 East Greenwich is a scout-led troop sponsored by the East Greenwich First Baptist Church, with a focus on having fun while instilling leadership and outdoor skills!
We try to camp out once or twice a month in addition to our annual week at Yawgoog Scout Reservation. We also go rock climbing, bowling, and march in local parades. We support our community through service projects such as cleaning up public spaces and assisting local non-profits.
Our troop’s relatively small size means each scout has a voice in our decisions, and everyone feels included. We have excellent scout retention, with all of our scouts progressing well through the ranks. The troop has graduated a steady stream of Eagle Scouts throughout the years. Of course, you are welcome to join us even if you only want to go camping! A number of our scouts also have other serious sports or academic commitments, so our flexible model makes it possible for everyone to enjoy the scouting experience.
